Does the AirTag come included?
No — our collars are designed with a dedicated AirTag pocket but the AirTag itself is sold separately. AirTag is available from Apple directly, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman.
What is the difference between a cat collar with AirTag pocket and a cat collar attachment?
A collar with a built-in AirTag pocket is a complete replacement collar — the AirTag slot is part of the collar design. No separate holder needed, no clips or cases to manage.
A cat collar attachment is a holder that clips onto a collar your cat already wears. If your cat's current collar fits well and they're comfortable in it, an attachment is the more cost-effective option. If you're due for a new collar, one with a built-in pocket is the cleaner solution.
Do your cat collars need to be a specific type?
All our cat collars use safety-release buckles. This is essential for cats — if your cat gets their collar caught on a branch, fence or furniture, the buckle releases under pressure to free them safely. We will not stock non-safety-release cat collars.
Will the collar attachment fit my cat's existing collar?
Our cat collar attachment is designed specifically for cat collars — not adapted from a dog product. It fits collar straps up to 15mm wide and 2mm thick, which covers the majority of standard cat collars sold in Australia. Measure your cat's collar strap with a ruler before ordering.
Why do I need a cat-specific attachment rather than a dog one?
Dog collar holders are designed for collar straps typically 20–40mm wide. Most cat collars are 10–15mm wide. A dog holder on a cat collar will spin, slide and sit incorrectly, potentially blocking the AirTag's Bluetooth signal and causing discomfort for your cat. Our cat attachment is sized specifically for cat collars.
Will my cat tolerate wearing an AirTag holder?
Most cats that are already used to wearing a collar tolerate a lightweight holder without issue. Our cat collar attachment weighs just 5 grams — comparable to a standard collar buckle. We recommend introducing the holder gradually and monitoring your cat for the first few days.
What sizes of cat collars are available?
Sizes vary by collar style. Each product page lists the exact size range and how to measure your cat's neck correctly. We recommend measuring your cat's neck with a soft tape measure before ordering and checking the size guide on the individual product page.
Is AirTag 2 compatible with your cat collars and attachments?
Yes — all our cat collars and collar attachments are compatible with both the original Apple AirTag and AirTag 2. Apple kept the physical dimensions identical between generations.
How accurate is AirTag for finding cats in Australia?
AirTag uses Apple's Find My network — a system that uses nearby Apple devices to anonymously relay your AirTag's location to your iPhone. In Australian suburbs and cities, network coverage is dense enough to provide location updates within minutes when your cat is moving through populated areas.
AirTag is not a real-time GPS tracker. It updates location when it comes within Bluetooth range of another Apple device. This makes it particularly useful for cats that escape in suburban areas — including council areas with overnight curfew requirements.
AirTag 2, released in January 2026, delivers improved range and faster location updates compared to the original.
What is the difference between AirTag and a GPS tracker?
GPS trackers use satellite positioning and a mobile SIM card to report location in real time — they require a monthly subscription and batteries that last weeks rather than a year.
Apple AirTag is a Bluetooth tracker using Apple's Find My network. No subscription, no SIM card, one year battery life. In Australian suburbs and cities the network is dense enough to provide frequent location updates. AirTag is not suitable as a real-time tracker in remote or rural areas.
